Few inventions have done more to broaden our horizons than the Space Shuttle. While it could never eclipse the impact of the Apollo programme, the Shuttle became a flagship of human progress that united and inspired a generation. Thirty years after transporting the first Italian to space, we use high-density resin, steel and NASA design codes to salute its reign, and celebrate a marvel of design and engineering.

Between 1981 and 2011, NASA’s Space Shuttle fleet flew an incredible 135 missions. Five operational Orbiter Vehicles were built in total: Columbia, Challenger, Discovery, Endeavour and Atlantis – all named after historical exploration and research vessels.

Atlantis was the last Shuttle to fly, and the first to carry an Italian to space. Dr. Franco Malerba became our country’s first astronaut in 1992. Our design draws from NASA’s crisp lines, signature colours and iconic ‘Worm’ logo to channel the spirit of the era.

A clean resin livery relies on enamel-fill detailing and the NASA Worm logo to accentuate its obvious, early-90s influences. Precision engravings of Atlantis in launchpad and lift-off modes lend space-explorer flavour to stainless-steel hardware.

The second chapter in our NASA programme reconnects with a period of great optimism, when the Space Shuttle was a beacon of international cooperation and scientific endeavour. It arrives at a moment when interest in space exploration is flourishing once again.
